Jesus’s life on earth spanned just a few decades, but His Words still speak to us today. The New Testament’s quotations from Jesus have generated billions of words of commentary in the past two millennia.
In this collection, let His Words—commonly referred to by Biblical scholars as “the red words”—speak for themselves to all of us.
Some of the passages are fragments from Biblical stories—you might find them more understandable by reading them in a Bible to capture the context and cultural references of their times. However, you will be surprised at how even the context-free quotations touch your heart.
The quotations in this work come from the King James Version (KJV), one of the most poetic of the Bible translations. Extra spaces within a verse indicate that there was black type that interrupted a red word passage.
